Today I bring you the close of our weekend getaway. Waking on Sunday morning was a little difficult. The cabin bed was very welcoming and I was sure mr. buns, (our weekend pet rabbit) wanted us to stay a while longer, but we still needed to make our final stop in Austin.
We arrived at Austin a bit too early for our next activity so did some shopping downtown and grabbed a bite at 1886 Cafe & Bakery. Thinking through Austin’s activity was tough. We wanted to do something different and thankfully Rob found a very cool attraction called iFLY, which in short, is indoor skydiving. Yes friends… and it was actually pretty cool. I am 99-steps closer to jumping out of an actual airplane.
The experience was exhilarating, “bawdness”, “total coolosity” and hilarious. Adjectives used by my husband. I can assure you I was nothing but calm until I stepped into the air filled tube. I now know how Dorothy felt when that tornado hit her house before dumping it, her and Toto off in The Land of Oz. My coach kept giving me the hand signals we practiced before entering but my frail 99lb body didn’t stand a chance. After struggling for a few seconds I motioned that I wanted out. My coach urged me to try again, and I reluctantly did, because I didn’t want to be remembered as the girl who chickened out on pseudo skydiving. I have pride people! Attempt number two was a success and I was glad I tried it. Rob, as always, did a perfect job. I’ll say no more, check out the footage and if you get a good laugh while watching my portion of the vid, you’re welcome. Video courtesy, iFly.
On a scale of 1-10 I give our weekend getaway an 11, but I’m plain biased. Have you done any travels recently or have favourite trips? Share them!
I know, I know… its been over a week and I have not posted a single video on the countdown. I could make up some elaborate story for you but I’m just too tired. Things got really hectic at the office lately.
Lemme explain. I work at a church, so during the summer we host a lot of activities for children and teens. From July 16th – 27th we host a camp called YAM – Youth Awareness Marketplace. Youths come out for the two weeks and we have instructors who teach them 2 skills and a talent each. They learn skills such as baking, cooking, sewing, plumbing, painting, basic computing, first aid & beauty care… I don’t think I’m forgetting anything. Talent wise, they can learn to play an instrument, join a singing group, a drama group, do mime, poetry, flowetry (something similar to poetry) and that’s about it I think. I maybe forgetting some things and I blame the tiredness.
Anywho, we have about 35 youth people and 7 children (little brothers and sisters who tag along because no one is at home to watch them). I’ve been quite busy helping out with leading group sessions, taking photo and video and I also had my share of babysitting the youngins. It has been a fun two weeks but most tiring as well. As I sit here and type this to you my eyes want to close but I need to post a video so that you guys won’t think I’m a slacker 😛
I have most of my footage ready and its just to compile my videos and post them. A lot easier said than done. Why not do it after work you say? Well for one thing, when I get home, I am beat and all I want to do is crash on my bed. Sadly I can’t even get that luxury. We started dance practice, so we’ve been meeting with our instructors twice a week. Plus we have to put in our own practice when we get a chance. We have meetings. We have to help our families. We have to get things done for the wedding. For the apartment. For this, for that. Does anyone want to come take over while I take a 15 minute nap?
*falls over in exhaustion*
Please enjoy last Monday’s video. I will try to catch up as soon as possible. Hope you are having a great week!
Sorry for such a late upload of videos 28 & 27. The weekend was a lil hectic and I was unable to edit and upload. Do enjoy video 28 now. 27 will be with you soonish, hehe.
Have a blessed day!
Its day 29. Just video, no photos today. However, I am sure to get a couple at tonight’s celebrations & will post them later 🙂
Do have an enjoyable weekend folks.
Today my 30 day countdown until I say, “I do.” begins! I’ve been thinking a lot about how I wanted to present this challenge. Pictures or video or both? I really can’t make up my mind so I think it would have to be a mix up of everything. Some days I am sure I will be able to do video and other days I may only be able to do photos… so… I decided to mix it all up and hopefully keep it fun, ha!
Today I present you with photo AND video! You may chime in with your “Ooows”… “Aaahs”… Yes people. Today is a good day. Haha.
Even though its not the best photo, this is one of my favourite photos of Rob & I. I love his smirk, that he’s not paying attention to the camera person and how sexy he looks in his suit 😛 I don’t remember exactly what caught his attention but from my expression one can tell that I was trying really hard to catch it as well. Haha.
Do enjoy today’s video.
Hello ladies & gents!
It’s mid week! Two days till the weekend AND 31 days till I’m married! Woohoo!
Tomorrow I start my 30 day count down until the big day. Until then, please enjoy a short video I made of breakfast this morning. There is much to be improved in my video taking skill. I won’t mention some of the flaws but if you do notice then, let’s keep it our little secret 😉
